A suspect has been arrested in connection with the slayings of an Atlantic City cocktail waitress and her daughter Wednesday morning.
Police said 25-year-old Nicholas Nigro III is in custody for the deaths of Maryjane Buri-Mulder, 48, and her daughter Paula Mulder, 21.
Buri-Mulder and her daughter were found shot to death inside their Egg Harbor Township home at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
An autopsy determined that Buri-Mulder suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head while Mulder was shot in the head and neck.
"I want to assure the public that the only person chargeable with the murders has been taken into custody and there is no evidence that anyone else was involved in the killings," Housel said.
Nigro has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose. Bail was set at $2 million full cash, Housel said.
Police have not yet released a motive in the deadly incident.
