No Endorsement For A.C. Mayor Candidates
ATLANTIC CITY (AP) ―
None of the above. That's the choice of The Press of Atlantic City when it comes to the four candidates running for mayor of Atlantic City this fall.
The newspaper says the next mayor needs long-term vision, the ability to resist handing out jobs to cronies, sensitivity to tourism and the ability to work with others.
But it concluded none of the candidatesDemocratic incumbent Lorenzo Langford, Republican Jesse Kurtz, and independents Dennis Mason and Joseph Pollilohave all those qualities.
Instead, the paper printed a postcard with the heading "Dear Mr. Mayor, please..." and left a blank space for readers to list their priorities for the next chief executive. It promises to print the best responses before the next mayor takes office.
