Atlantic City Marathon Stuck At The Starting Line
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) ―
The Atlantic City Marathon is a late scratch.
Former race director Barbara Altman says the race, scheduled for Oct. 18, won't be held then. It's unclear when it might be.
Altman returned after organizing the race for 20 years. She says that with no successor named, this year's event won't happen.
That means it will end its run as the third oldest continually held marathon in the country.
Altman said she hopes an organization that coordinates races across the country will take over.
She says a handful of people registered for the race. Their checks have not been cashed and will be returned.
